EXERCISE BY DESIGN: HOW TO WRITE AN EXERCISE
In order to prepare appropriately, respond effectively, and recover quickly from an earthquake disaster and other emergencies, you need to exercise your Emergency Operation Plan (EOP). This discussion-based workshop will focus on the following based on the ShakeOut Scenario for a magnitude 7.8 earthquake on the San Andreas Fault.
- Instructions and examples of tools to use to develop an exercise for the first time planner
- Identify potential hazards and threats, and how to mitigate them
- Learn how to conduct a basic Table Top Exercise
- Learn how to develop an after-action plan and improve an existing plan for first time and experienced planners
- Learn how to begin the planning process to design a Full Scale Exercise
You are encouraged to invite colleagues and others in your professional network to attend our ECA workshops. Working together we will further our goals to promote and improve preparedness, mitigation and resilience.
