After the workshop, drive the short distance to downtown Los Altos and visit the exhibit at the Los Altos History Museum: “Our Community Prepares: Acts of Nature, Then and Now.” This exhibit takes an innovative approach to public education about earthquake risks and emergency preparedness. The exhibit marks the 30th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake, reflects on the stories of lives shaken by local disasters, shows ways the community has worked together to prepare for natural disasters in the future, and educates on individual preparedness. Since the Museum is ordinarily closed on Wednesdays, we’ll have a special tour opportunity available to us at 1:30pm.
