2019 ECA Bay Area Mini Awards

Purpose

Earthquake Country Alliance Associates are known for their commitment to earthquake risk reduction. The purpose of the ECA Bay Area Mini Award Program is to assist Associates in their efforts to improve earthquake resilience, promote awareness and preparedness, and to multiply the impact of their programs.

Award Overview

  • Awards will be funded up to $500.00
  • 8-10 awards will be given
  • Funding for ECA activities is managed by the Southern California Earthquake Center at USC, through a grant from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services

Eligible Applicants

  • Must be a registered Earthquake Country Alliance Associate in the Bay Area (join at EarthquakeCountry.org/alliance). **NOTE** The Associate Application is working now, however there is an issue with the approval process. Do not worry about receiving your approval notification- all you need to do is submit the Associate application at this time.
  • Open to public and private sector organizations (agencies, institutions, businesses, associations, etc.)
  • Awards will only be given to individuals who are already affiliated with an established preparedness organization

Eligible Use of Funds

  • Must be earthquake related (not general preparedness), with priority given to proposals for mitigation activities (see EarthquakeCountry.org/step1 and EarthquakeCountry.org/step4), however other earthquake preparedness activities can also be proposed
  • Your application must detail how you will distribute/implement the materials you receive, who it will benefit, and how you will evaluate the results.
  • Must be used to benefit those in the ECA Bay Area region (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties)
  • Funding will be administered directly to the vendor identified in the proposal
  • Cannot be used for staff labor costs
  • Pre-identified options of $500 packages of materials are listed next (and on the application); you can also propose other items to be purchased on your behalf
