ECA Bay Area's Spring 2022 workshop featured a presentation on enhancing resilience by exercising aspects of an earthquake scenario; 2022 ECA Mini Award recipients shared updates about their projects; ECA resources and activities were highlighted; and we had open discussion for attendees to ask questions and make suggestions.
Attendees learned about coordination of non-profit response during disasters, support for resilience of affordable housing communities, updates about ECA Mini Awards and the HayWired Toolkit, and a commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of ECA.
The workshop included a debrief about this year’s ShakeOut, updates about Earthquake Early Warning and FEMA resources, overviews of ECA’s Mini Awards, and plans for the Loma Prieta Earthquake 35th anniversary.
Discussions at the UC Berkeley Seismology Lab focused on "slow slip" and earthquakes on the nearby Hayward fault (with a visit afterwards at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory), the Bay Area CERT Coalition, funding opportunities, and plans for the Loma Prieta 35th anniversary.
