Each October, millions of people practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills across the United States and around the around the world – the world’s largest earthquake drill! Your institution is a perfect place to host ShakeOut activities for your visitors, staff, and local community.

On September 15, 2021, the U.S. Geological Survey ShakeAlert System (ShakeAlert.org) and the Earthquake Country Alliance EPIcenter Committee (EarthquakeCountry.org/epicenter) hosted a webinar discussion on how Free-Choice Learning Environments (museums, parks, libraries, etc.) can participate in Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills.
